FEZ has a really charming pixel art style and lovely music. The platforming controls are pretty floaty and don’t feel very responsive. It’s core game mechanic is about being able to change perspective in a 2D word, basically rotating what is a 3D map model but you only ever see a 2D side of it at once. This is really innovative, works well, and allows for creative movement and problem solving. Unfortunately, although that core mechanic is pretty nice the framework it’s in needs work. You’re given no direction on where to go next, lots of backtracking, the world map is useless and the puzzles spike in difficulty. It gets repetitive, but could have been better in a slightly different format.
