I was trying to get OBS prepared for streaming by setting some presets, and every time I create a new preset it is sized much larger than I want it to be. The Minecraft one, for example, should be 1920 x 1080 but it ends up being quite a bit larger. I was clicking through the settings but couldn’t see anywhere that allowed me to change that. I’m using the Mac version, 0.8.1. Here’s a screenshot of my previewed scene.
The setting in your overall OBS settings is what determines the stage size. I would actually recommend streaming at 720p as Twitch doesn’t transcode unless you’re a partner. So you have to stream in at what your viewers will be streaming out.
That’s what I thought, so I had changed that in the display settings and nothing changed. Maybe I need to make that settings change and start fresh with a new scene. I’ll give it a try later.
When you drop a new asset on the stage, it’s not necessarily at true size. It’s annoying but that’s how it seems to work. You have to resize it.
